ICT conference to explore the future of data at the UN

The United Nations (UN) OICT’s Policy, Strategy and Governance Division (PSGD) will host on 8 October a multidisciplinary symposium on ‘The future of data at the UN’ to look at how the organisation can create an effective data ecosystem across the Secretariat.
Data is getting a significant role in today’s society. The UN Secretary-General has stressed the importance of creating a data-driven organisation capable of effectively serving the world in the 21st century.

The event will attempt to address the challenges the UN faces to develop an effective data ecosystem.
The symposium will feature opening remarks by Atefeh Riazi, Assistant Secretary-General and Chief Information Technology Officer in OICT.
Some of the panellist include Francesca Perucci, Chief of Statistical Services Branch in UN DESA, Lydia Clougherty Jones, Analyst and Research Director of the Data and Analytics Group at Gartner The panel will include Francesca Perucci, Chief of Statistical Services Branch in UN DESA, Jordan Morrow, Data and Analytics Executive at Qlik and Dr. Sreekar Krishna, Managing Director of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Innovation at KPMG.
