Iran deploys air defense systems to Syria

Iran reportedly deployed air defense systems to Syria, according to Iran’s Army spokesman Abu Fadl Shikaraji. “We have deployed some air defense systems to Syria at the request of the government in Damascus, he said.
“The economic conditions do not allow us to provide everything free of charge to our allies and sometimes they have to pay for it,” he added.
Iran reportedly sold Bavar-373, khordad-15 and Mersad as well as radar and ECCM equipment to Syria.
The transfers, not yet officially confirmed, have been reported by a series of media sources close to the government.
