Ivory Coast PM Amadou Gon Coulibaly evacuated to France for medical checks

Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly was evacuated to France for medical checks after he self-isolated in late March because of possible exposure to COVID-19.
Coulibaly, 61, is the governing RHDP party’s candidate in October’s presidential election seeking a third term himself.
Hamed Bakayoko, Ivory Coast’s Defence Minister, who recovered himself from coronavirus last month, will serve as interim PM.
Ivory Coast has one of the highest totals number of coronavirus cases in West Africa, with more than 1,300 cases and 15 deaths.
