Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, US, Lockheed Martin is a global security, defence and aerospace company that employs over 110,000 people worldwide and is specialised in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced defence and security technology systems and services.

The company received $36 billion in government contracts in 2008 alone, more than any company in history.

Half of the company’s annual sales are to the US Department of Defense (DoD).

Lockheed Martin operates in four business segments:  Aeronautics, Missiles and Fire Control (MFC), Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS), and Space.

For the fiscal year 2019, the company reported an earnings of about $6.230 billion, with an annual revenue of $59.812 billion, an increase of 11% over the previous fiscal cycle.
