The Protector Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) is designed for small and medium calibre weapons including mounting of coaxial weapons and ATGM.

The Protector RWS, developed by Kongsberg, features an advanced modular Sensor suite (Day, Night, LRF) that guarantees operators a tailorable situational awareness.

The RWS is designed for military operation in extreme environmental conditions, with capabilities that allow troops to operate from a protected position by using stabilised precision laser and optics to monitor, detect, and engage hostile targets with accuracy and reduced collateral damage.

The RWS’s Detached Line of Sight enables operators to keep sights on target, independent of the ballistic solution for the weapon in use.

The system, fully stabilised on a 2+2 Axis (DLOS) is platform-independent and can operate both at land and sea.

The RWS is built on 5th Generation Open Architecture fully GVA compliant Fire Control System with a user-oriented HMI enables integrations. The control systems includes a DDS based Integrated Computer Systems (ICS), a Battle Management Systems (BMS), a Defensive systems support: (APS, laser warning) and a Situation awareness support and threats view, according to the company.

The system has an Operational Readiness Rate of 99% and low life cycle costs.
