Taiwan: PLA says ‘no force can stop China from achieving reunification’

China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) authority says that the complete reunification and national rejuvenation of China “will surely be achieved, it is a historical trend that cannot be stopped by anyone or any force”, according to Senior Colonel Wu Qian, PLA spokesperson in a media interview.

The statement arrived as a reply to comment on Taiwan media reports that the PLA‘s aircraft have entered the southwest air zone of Taiwan for combat drills as well as recent statement issued by the US State Department urging Beijing to stop military pressure on Taiwan.

Colonel Wu pointed out that Beijing considers Taiwan is an inalienable part of China.

“The Taiwan question is purely China’s internal affair which allows no foreign interference. China is willing to strive for peaceful cross-Strait reunification with the utmost sincerity and best efforts, but meanwhile, will never tolerate the splitting of the country by Taiwan independence separatists,” said Wu.

“China makes no promise to abandon the use of force and reserves the option of taking all necessary measures, but this only targets interference from external forces and the very small number of Taiwan independence separatists and their activities, not compatriots in Taiwan”, added Wu.

Wu warned that the current cross-Strait situation is complicated and severe and accused the DPP authorities in Taiwan of relying on “foreigners to seek independence by force”.

History has proven that those bad elements who try to split the country will never end well, said Wu.

“Our capabilities are always there and our will is firm as a rock,” Wu added.

Wu concluded by stressing that “the complete reunification and national rejuvenation of China will surely be achieved, it is an unstoppable historical trend”.

In addition to this statesman the country’s top diplomat Wang Yi also addressed the hot topics of reunification on the agenda at the National People’s Congress (NPC).

Beijing says that Taiwan is an “insurmountable red line,” the Chinese foreign minister warned the US administration led by President Joe Biden on Sunda speaking at an annual news conference during the meeting of the National People’s Congress, China’s annual parliamentary session.
