Ukrainian troops come under fire in Donbas

Russian-backed forces have reportedly violated the ceasefire and attacked Ukrainian Joint Forces positions near the villages of Bohdanivka and Starohnativka in Donbas.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Maksym Prauta reported the news at a briefing on Friday.

“As of 12:30 on May 29, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area twice using grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns, and small arms. According to available information, no casualties among the Ukrainian military were reported,” the spokesman said.

According to local media, Ukrainian military gave an adequate response to the enemy attacks.
